Summer: Started, Is Starting, Will Start

Summer Started...
  • ... five weeks ago, the night I took my first sip of that "fresca" drink from the Alibi Room and a Pimm's Cup from The White Horse in Seattle with ReckenRoll and Kate...
  • ... four weeks ago, while "attempting" the Helicopter on the dancefloor at Erin & Ryan's wedding reception...
  • ... three weeks ago, while enjoying a late-night g&t with friends outside the Aalto Lounge on Belmont in Portland, marvelling at the cobalt night sky past midnight...
  • ... two weeks ago, when I decided Niner will teach me to skateboard...

Summer Is Starting...

  • ... today, when I walked into my Summer Session chemistry class and let out a groan...
  • ... today, when I decided that despite this, I am going to have a good summer...

Summer Will Start...

  • ... soon, when I figure out what my summer drink will be...
  • ... this week, when I figure out what my Summer Jam will be (and I'm open for suggestions)...
  • ... someday, when the Liar's Club sets a date for our Blegger...

When did summer start for you?

-should guys about to turn %# really be trying to skateboard? how about chair aerobics?

-did you groan in chemistry because you knew how much fun you were about to have? because that's what i do in chemistry. i use my lab time to create unique sculptures from the molten glass stirring rods.

-the summer jam i'm pimping for '08 is "time to pretend" (the song, not the album) from MGMT. it's all about hookers and nose candy, which as we all know i enjoy almost as much as meth. i REALLY hope one of my students reads this comment!

Summer hadn't officially started for me until I read your link to ClassyandFancy's Summer Jam post. This is right up my alley... and so, now my summer has officially started because I'm actively on the hunt for my own summer jam. I've never typed summer so many times in one statement in my life.

PS: I ordered a Pimm's Cup REALLY late one night and the guy next to us thought I asked for a pimp cup.

What's a late night g&t? Is that code for gay sex or what?

learn how to skateboard! just remember that none of the cool kids wear helmets or knee pads.

i desperately need a summer jam. i'm liking port o'brien, but they're a little too grey, cold alaska for summer time.

Hahaha, blegger! That's awesome.

Summer started for me three weeks ago when I pitched in an exhibition game against the Schaumburg Flyers.

I honestly don't feel my summer is going to start until Indy Pride is over. So bring on June 16th!

I have a few songs for my summer jam, and I suppose I'll need to narrow them down. I'll get back to ya ;)

i'm doing that 101 things in 1001 days list and i'm pretty sure i'm going to add "attend a blegger" on there.

and once it goes on it can't come off!

Um, considering it's 50 degrees, raining daily and I had to turn the HEAT on in JUNE summer is never starting for me.

Please keep me apprised of blegger date so I can plan my Chicago travel accordingly.

Summer started that one day it was 84 degrees and I soaked a shirt with sweat by simply walking to the bank.

My summer started on Memorial Day when I not only sweat through my clothes (I believe this happened to I'm Frank on this day too), but also received a wicked bruise on my calf (I am prone to summer injury, I think it's all the frolicking), won a round of bocce, and ate crackers washed down with a Pacifico at a random Mexican restaurant in the middle of nowhere (okay it was on Pulaski on the northwest side, close enough).

Summer is starting and stopping and generally teasing way too much here in the Pacific North West - damn you weather, damn you. From the perspective of today's 57 degrees and rain I'm even feeling slightly envious of all the crazy weather in the mid west - I mean, I can't deny that tornadoes suck, but at least the mercury is topping 80 degrees...

As payback for that comment, I can confirm that summer started (and then stopped the next day) back in April when we hit 75 degrees - I was wearing an old pair of flip flops, slipped on the stairs in my apartment building and had melon sized black bruises on my arse for the next two weeks.

Summer started for me hanging out on the patio at Lipgloss the other week.

I'm thinking Mariah's 'Migrate' might be my summer jam.

According to my hair, which is straight when I leave the house and a nasty tangled nest of feathered spikes by the time I get to the train due to humidity, summer is in full force.

My vote for summer jam is "Konichiwa, Bitches" by Robyn.

Congrats on the A!

You know summer has started in California when the news is filled with stories of wild fires.

I usually say when softball gets going. But since all the games we have played have been 35 degrees and/or rained out, there is no damn summer.

Summer started when I had to call the maintenance hotline and beg them to come fix my A/C because it was hotter than Hades in my apartment, and not nearly hot enough outside! I was sweating just sitting, relaxing with a beer.
