Going West

I'm off to Seattle for work for the rest of the week, then down to Portland for the weekend.

Very excited.

It will be good to get to both places, since Portland used to be home and I haven't been to Seattle in more than 3 years. Getting a good healthy dose of the Familiar will do me some good. On the agenda:

  • good Thai food (seriously, they're few & far between in Chicago)

  • many cocktails in Belltown with the Wingman and Kate

  • a cow chip cookie while I peruse Elliot Bay Company

  • Powell's, bitches!

  • not hanging out in a women's bathroom with Not Carrie

  • a little somethin-somethin from Local 35

  • a stiff drink from Muu-Muus or a beer at Doug Fir. Or both.

  • a run through Forest Park

  • American Dream Pizza

Yeah, there's no way I will get through half of the above, but we're going to give it a shot.

Bring It!

Sounds like this work trip is exactly what you need to get a little bit of your swagger and some of that mojo back! Have a great time! The only thing you'll be missing out on here is a forecast of pouring down rain. YAY for you!

Forget about those quizzes - over here we still call them tests.

have an awesome time in the pacific northwest!

re chicago thai: have you tried the place underneath the brown line Western stop aon Western? I can't remember the name but we used to go there all the dagnabbed time. My brother tried to be all macho there once and ordered something extra hot and they made his food so spicy it made his ears turn red, they have had my full adoration since then

I left the bed warm for you and a sandwich in the fridge. Here's the better schedule planning in the future. :-(

I've only been to Seattle once, but I ate at the The Met and it was freaking awesome.

Have fun [Cherry]! Is it wrong for me to hope for more open letters upon your return? :)

In PDX, you've gotta find the time for Powells and Doug Fir. How I miss not being able to frequent these establishments anymore.

What are those big pointy white things in the backgrounds of both pictures? Why don't we have those in Chicago. I don't understand.

Please have a Brutus Smash for me at Muu Muu's! The best chat up line I EVER got was over a Brutus Smash and many PBRs.
