Barely There

Ladies, what is this?
Seriously. What is it? I mean, I know what it is (it is an American Apparel "Barely-There Body Suit") but what what would you use it for?
Is it underwear? Pajamas? Both?
Is it some sort of bra-panties-girdle combination?
You don't wear this in public, right? Right? (Well, maybe you would if you're heading to Blue States Lose I guess.)

And most importantly, are you ladies actually buying these things?

Inquiring minds want to know...

This lady is just as baffled.

My best guess is that it's some sort of "provocative" hipster wear that, yes, is meant to be worn on the outside.

But no, I don't know of any ladies actually buying these body suits attempting mimic our birthday suits.

Well, if it's like other bodysuits, you consider the top a shirt for outerwear and put on jeans for the bottom half.

The idea is that you can wear it with trousers that have waistbands you don't really want to tuck into - cause it'd look bulky with the line of the pant.

However, this one concerns me. It's really barely there. Why bother putting on clothes at all. IMHO - only wear if actively looking to get nookie and not caring where it comes from.

Hmmm. Maybe I should order a few. What's that website again?

I am actually wearing one of those at work right now! Except mine is way from back in the day and has the snaps around the crotchular area. I have to attest it works well with the hypercolor stirrups I am rocking.

I may purchase this one from American Apparel. I am looking for the perfect ensemble for my Flashdance audition. Thanks Cherry for keeping me up to date!

I think it's all part of this 90's fashion revival that's going on. If I recall correctly bodysuits were a frequent choice of the Beverly Hills 90210 costume designer.

Mr Will...I am just a tad concerned at your interest in women's underwear I must say!

Princess: no need to be concerned.I'm into women's dresses, not their underwear.

This is a look made popular in Germany, and inspired by sausage casing.

Could they have picked a nastier color? I guess anemic is the new black.

why would anyone buy something that doesn't even look good on the model?

I admit, I had one back in '92 when I was TWELVE but ew freaking ew, as if skinny jeans weren't enough why are these things making a comeback?
